Ballingarry Claim Shield After Goal Fest

News ...

Ballingarry (1) 6 (David Geary 2, Mike Molloy 2, Darren Bridgeman, Enda Moran)
Broadford Utd (2) 5 (Leon Madigan 2, Lee Foley, Danny Mullane, own goal)

In a tremendously exciting game Ballingarry claimed the U16 Division 1 Shield when they overcame Broadford Utd in an eleven goal thriller in Glantine last Wednesday night, winning six five. Broadford led two one at half time and at one stage were four two up in the second half before Ballingarry fought back to level matters before going on to forge five four ahead. Broadford responded and made it five all and it looked very much like extra time only for Ballingarry to win it in the last minute with skipper Mike Molloy’s second goal of the game. Disappointment for Broadford but joy for Ballingarry in a final that will live long in the memory of those present.

Ballingarry: Owen Lynch, Darren Bridgeman, Brian Sheehy, Calvin Quinn, Mark Ruddle, Reece Kelly, Mike Molloy, Eoin Lynch, Lee Madigan, Cian McGoey, David Geary. Subs Ronan Keating, Enda Moran, Gary Storin.

Broadford Utd: Michael Pierce, Ryan Reidy, Paddy Ryan, Cian Ryan, Cian Nash, Alan Power, Lee Foley, Kenny Lynch, Dean Quaid, Danny Mullane, Leon Madigan.

Referee: Tony Fitzmaurice
