Glantine Girls Claim League Title

News ...

IMPRESSIVE GLANTINE ARE LEAGUE CHAMPIONS

U/12 Girls Div 2
Glantine are the division two league champions after they got the required win away to Kildimo Utd on Saturday last. There was an air of inevitability about the outcome of the league as Glantine got win after win over the course of the season. Indeed their run has seen them win their ten games so far and clinch the title with two games to spare and what I believe is a club record. Glantine were two goals to the good at half time with goals by Shauna Quinlivan and Aine Lane with the regular scorer Ciara Curtin adding a third in the second half with Cameryn Moloney got one back for Kildimo late on.
After the match Tom Ambrose from The Limerick Desmond Schoolboys/Girls League presented the Glantine captain Ciara Curtin with the league trophy.

Glantine Panel: Tracey Sheehy, Sinead Egan, Ailey Lyons, Ciara Curtin, Shauna Quinlivan, Jodi Murphy, Lucy Dalton, Eavan Lyons, Jessica Hastings, Sarah Curtin, Milly Dore, Aine Lane, Orla O’Connor, Amy Stack, Caoimhe Galvin, Isabelle Romo, Elayna McMahon.

Elsewhere in the division Shannonside B climber above Kildimo Utd into second place after a five nil win away to Kilcolman Rovers. In the derby game AK Utd won three two away to Askeaton. The visitors opened the scoring ten minutes from half time but two minutes after the break Katie Harty-Maune equalized for Askeaton but three minutes later AK were back in front. Askeaton levelled again with a Leah Cremin free kick but in the last five minutes AK struck for the winner.
